Alex Scott withdraws from England squad with thigh injury; set to miss 6–8 weeks
WHAT HAPPENED
Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of Tuesday's Nations League match with the Czech Republic because of a thigh (quadriceps) injury. The 23-year-old is set to be out for six to eight weeks.

Scott played 70 minutes in his full debut as England beat Croatia 7-0, having felt the issue before that match. England coach Thomas Tuchel praised his performance after the Croatia game: "First start and what a start, what a performance. He is so smooth on the ball, his decision making is at the highest level. He plays with so much confidence. He is so active, so confident. The work rate off the ball. He is just the complete package. He gave us a lot of mobility and a lot of variety and work rate in the centre of the pitch."

Ezri Konsa also ruled out
Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has been ruled out of the Czech Republic fixture and will return to the Premier League champions for treatment on an injury.

Club context
Scott joins Bournemouth team-mate Eli Junior Kroupi on the club's injury list; Kroupi remains unavailable after sustaining a foot problem in pre-season. Bournemouth sit 17th in the Premier League and are without a win after five league matches (three draws, two defeats).

A congested calendar follows: Bournemouth are due to play nine games between 10 October and 8 November, including Europa League ties against Sturm Graz, AC Milan and Sparta Prague, a Carabao Cup fourth-round trip to Aston Villa, and Premier League matches at Chelsea (Saturday, 15:00 BST), then fixtures against Sunderland, Manchester United, Leeds and Ipswich before the November international break.
