Arsenal linked with 20-year-old Manchester United defender Leny Yoro

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Manchester United centre-back Leny Yoro, according to a report cited by Caught Offside. The 20-year-old has been at United for the past two years but has not yet established himself as a regular starter.

Yoro is currently used as a backup centre-back at Old Trafford. Harry Maguire is described as ahead of him in the pecking order for the right centre-back slot, and Matthijs de Ligt’s return from a long-term back injury is also reported to strengthen United’s options — a situation that could limit Yoro’s opportunities. The report adds that Yoro is considering a new challenge elsewhere and that Arsenal could make a surprise approach for the former Lille defender.

Arsenal have recently added a right-sided centre-back in Ezri Konsa, a fact the report highlights when noting the club’s interest in Yoro would be unexpected.
