Arsenal name 4-2-3-1 XI for Brighton with Guimaraes full league debut, Timber starts
Mikel Arteta has confirmed his starting XI as Arsenal travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton in the Premier League this afternoon. The Gunners, on a seven-match winning run, will deploy a 4-2-3-1 as Arteta makes nine changes from Tuesday's Carabao Cup victory over Ipswich Town.

WHAT HAPPENED
Arteta restores David Raya to goal in place of Kepa Arrizabalaga. There are changes across the back four: Jurrien Timber makes his first start of the season at right-back while Riccardo Calafiori features on the opposite flank. Ezri Konsa partners Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence. In midfield Bruno Guimaraes is handed his full league debut for Arsenal alongside Declan Rice; Mikel Merino, who started midweek at Portman Road, is named on the bench.

The attack is overhauled from the cup side: Bukayo Saka and Christos Tzolis replace Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze on the wings, Martin Ødegaard starts in the number 10 role ahead of Max Dowman, and Kai Havertz leads the line instead of Viktor Gyokeres.

Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brighton: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Guimaraes, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Tzolis; Havertz.

WHY IT MATTERS
The selection hands Bruno Guimaraes his first full league start for Arsenal and gives Timber his opening domestic start of the season as Arteta looks to keep the club's winning streak intact.

The match kicks off at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.
