Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi will be absent for the Champions League meeting with Lille at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow. Both players sustained ankle injuries during the warm‑down after Arsenal's 2-1 win over Leeds United and have been ruled out of the fixture.
INJURY DETAILS
Arteta described Zubimendi's problem as a minor issue. Hincapie, however, suffered an ankle sprain and there are concerns he could be sidelined for several weeks.
TEAM NEWS AND CONTEXT
Arsenal returned to winning ways with the 2-1 victory over Leeds last weekend and had earlier beaten Napoli 1-0 in their Champions League opener last month. Arteta is expected to make multiple changes from the Leeds line-up; Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino were listed as possible starters for the Lille game.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Arsenal will host Lille at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow, with Arteta set to name a side that will be without Hincapie and Zubimendi.
