Bellamy admits he is 'hurting' as Denmark beat Wales 2-0 in Copenhagen

WHAT HAPPENED
Denmark beat Wales 2-0 thanks to a Ben Davies own goal and a strike from Gustav Isaksen. The hosts dominated the early stages: Mikkel Damsgaard hit the post and Isaksen had an earlier effort disallowed for offside. Wales were ultimately undone by two set-pieces.
COACH AND PLAYER REACTIONS
Bellamy accepted Denmark were worthy winners and said he still expects improvement from his players. “I'm really hurting. When you see an athletic team run over you a little bit... but then, will we improve? I think we will,” he said, adding: “The best team won overall... As disappointed as I am with that, the result I probably think was fair.”
Captain Ben Davies described the game as a harsh lesson at this level, calling it “really frustrating to concede from two set-pieces.” Winger Sorba Thomas urged a reaction at home, noting Wales have two home matches left in the current international window.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The defeat followed a 1-0 loss to Portugal in Lisbon three days earlier, leaving Wales without a point from their away Nations League A double-header with Portugal and Denmark. They return to Cardiff City Stadium for fixtures against Norway on Thursday, 1 October, and then Denmark the following Sunday.
