Harry Kane marked another milestone in his England career with two goals as England defeated Czechia 3-0 at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League.

The victory continued England's strong response after the opening stage of the competition and kept Thomas Tuchel's team firmly in contention near the top of their group.

WHAT HAPPENED

Kane made his 125th England appearance, drawing level with Peter Shilton's national-team appearance record.

His influence was immediate. Kane supplied the delivery that resulted in Vladimir Coufal turning the ball into his own net for England's opening goal.

Before half-time Kane added a goal himself after Morgan Rogers supplied the cross.

The England captain scored again in the second half, heading in Lewis Hall's corner at the back post. The brace took Kane to 91 international goals.

England completed the match with a 3-0 victory and moved to nine points after four Nations League matches.

KEY CONTEXT

The result came only days after England's extraordinary 7-0 victory away to Croatia, giving the team two very different types of successful performance during the same international window.

Against Croatia, England overwhelmed an opponent with attacking speed and ruthless finishing. Against Czechia, the match was more controlled and Kane's experience was central to the result.

Kane's 125th appearance is another reminder of his longevity at international level. More importantly for England, he remains productive rather than simply accumulating appearances.

His 91 international goals show that his role remains decisive.

WHY IT MATTERS

International teams have limited preparation time. A striker who already understands his teammates, the system and the pressure of major matches gives a coach stability.

Kane continues to provide exactly that.

England have also shown that goals can arrive through different combinations around him, which reduces the danger of the attack becoming predictable.

WORLDCUPSPAIN ANALYSIS

The most significant element of England's October window may be the balance between established leadership and the development of newer players.

Kane remains the reference point, but players such as Rogers and Hall were involved in important moments against Czechia.

That combination is valuable. National teams need continuity, but they also need new players to become comfortable around experienced leaders.

England's performances suggest Tuchel is beginning to build that connection.

A 3-0 home win will not answer every question about England's long-term development, but together with the Croatia result it represents a strong international window.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

England return to Nations League action during the November international window. Their remaining matches will determine whether they progress from the group and how they are positioned for the knockout stage.
