Iraola praises Jeremy Jacquet after Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth

WHAT HAPPENED
On September 20, 2026, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola praised centre-back Jeremy Jacquet after the Reds secured a 1-0 Premier League victory away at Bournemouth. Alexander Isak scored the match's only goal before the hour mark.

IRAOLA ON JACQUET
Asked about Jacquet's progress, Iraola highlighted the defender's first international call-up and his adjustment to English football. He said: "I'm happy for him because he's also received his first international call-up. He's going with France and that is a big national team and I know that he is happy. He's still very young, he is adapting really well to the Premier League."

KEY CONTEXT
The win extended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season; they have picked up nine points from their opening five league matches. The club have shown improved defensive assurance even as they have not been flourishing in the final third.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Liverpool face a significant fixture after the international break when Manchester City visit Anfield on October 11. Liverpool lost 2-1 in the same fixture last season and will look to avenge that defeat.
