John Terry backs Arsenal to retain Premier League title
October 1, 2026 22:31
Chelsea icon John Terry has told Walcott on TikTok that he expects Arsenal to defend their Premier League title, saying the Gunners are the favourites and “have got an opportunity now to go and dominate the Premier League.”
CONTEXT
Arsenal won the league last season, ending a 22-year wait for the title. Terry acknowledged Chelsea’s own start to the campaign — saying “we [Chelsea] had a good start and we gave you guys [Arsenal] a good game actually” — but remained clear in his view that Arsenal can sustain their success.
RECENT FORM AND TABLE
The Gunners began the current campaign brightly but suffered a humbling loss to Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break. After five league games they sit three points behind Manchester City.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Arsenal can return to the top with a strong result when they host Leeds United in an early kick-off on October 10. Manchester City face Liverpool on October 11.
