Jordan Pickford pleads guilty after Knutsford driving incident
England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has admitted a charge of driving without due care or attention after an April incident in Knutsford in which his Lamborghini reportedly ignored a give way sign and forced two cars to brake hard.

WHAT HAPPENED
On 14 April, police say Pickford was driving a blue £200,000 Lamborghini Urus with personalised plates when he “completely ignored the give way lines and pulled onto Toft Road causing two vehicles to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision,” according to court documents. PC Cecil Ricardo said he saw the car on Princess Street and activated his lights and siren to pursue. The officer recorded Pickford driving at 50mph in a 30mph limit as the Lamborghini “was still pulling away.” The officer added that Pickford appeared to notice the pursuing police car and pulled over.

Pickford pleaded guilty in writing to the charge and told Warrington Magistrates' Court: “I would like to attend court to put forward my mitigation.” He will next appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on 7 December.

PLAYER BACKGROUND
Pickford, 32, has played 336 times for Everton and earned 92 caps for England. He began his career at Sunderland and had loan spells at six clubs including Burton Albion, Bradford City and Preston North End. He has featured for England at the 2018, 2022 and 2026 World Cups and was in goal for the nation’s Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 final appearances.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Pickford is due to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on 7 December, when he is expected to set out his mitigation.
