Liverpool have reached an agreement with Paris St-Germain for forward Bradley Barcola in a deal worth up to £123m. The structure reported by the BBC is an initial £106m fee plus up to £17m in potential add-ons. The 23-year-old is reported to be due for a medical this weekend ahead of a long-term contract at Anfield.
Barcola is right-footed but prefers to operate from the left flank. His likely arrival is already being linked to uncertainty over Cody Gakpo’s future at Liverpool; multiple sources have told the BBC that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have shown interest in the Netherlands international. Liverpool are also still pursuing a right-wing option, having explored moves for Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr.
KEY CONTEXT
- PSG had valued Barcola at about £145m earlier in the window; Liverpool negotiated the lower package.
- Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported £38.5m and has since collected several major honours with the club.
- He scored three goals for France at this summer’s World Cup and can play on either flank or through the middle.
- The forward is entering the final two years of his PSG contract and, per the BBC report, has shown no willingness so far to sign an extension.
- Liverpool have been looking to refresh their attack after the departures of Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah in the last two summers; Barcola had been identified as a priority since Yan Diomande moved to Real Madrid earlier in the window.
