Liverpool tracking Jarell Quansah as interest in defender rises

Quansah left Liverpool for Leverkusen in the summer of 2025 and has since become a key player for the Bundesliga side. The Reds could have triggered a £60 million buy-back clause to re-sign him in June but instead brought in Ronald Araujo on loan from Barcelona.
Arsenal were linked with a surprise move for Quansah during the summer, but Leverkusen indicated they would not entertain his departure at that time. It is claimed Quansah is likely to leave Leverkusen next summer, and reports say Liverpool could be open to a reunion with their academy graduate.
Leverkusen are aware of growing interest in the 23-year-old and may not offer any discount on the buy-back clause. If Leverkusen sell Quansah to another club, Liverpool would stand to benefit from a sell-on clause on any profit, having signed him for £30m.
