Man City Women say 'business as usual' after Premier League guilty verdict
Andree Jeglertz, manager of Manchester City Women, said it was "business as usual" for the team after the club was found guilty of Premier League financial breaches. Jeglertz declined to say whether he had received assurances the women's side would be unaffected, adding: "I don't want to comment more around that."

WHAT HAPPENED
The Premier League has found Manchester City guilty of breaches of its financial rules between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons. The league said City arranged "sham contracts" with commercial partners as part of a scheme to disguise secret funding of more than £830m. The club denies wrongdoing and has until 2 October to submit an appeal.

HOW THE WOMEN'S TEAM RESPONDED
City's women's side were the first representatives of the club to speak publicly since the verdict. Jeglertz faced seven questions about the charges before the club's press officer asked the media to move on. He said he supported the club — "Definitely. I am working at the club now so that's who I am hired by and working with, so, for sure." He added preparations for Thursday's match had not changed: "We have been training like normal... We haven't changed anything, we have just kept on doing everything we normally do."

Defender Jade Rose said players had received "the same messaging the public has" and when asked if the charges raised concerns she said: "I'm just here to talk about the football. That's what we're focusing on." Training on Wednesday proceeded without obvious change; Therese Sjogran, director of women's football at Manchester City, attended as usual. There were additional media present for the press conference ahead of the team's Women's Champions League game against Real Madrid.

CONTEXT AND INVESTIGATION STATUS
BBC Sport understands there is no active investigation into Manchester City's women's team by WSL Football. The charges relate to Premier League rules, which are different to the regulations governing the WSL, and the alleged breaches occurred when the women's league was under the Football Association.

UPCOMING FIXTURE AND FORM
Manchester City are the defending WSL champions and sit top of the table with 12 points from their first four matches. They face Real Madrid in their second Women's Champions League league-phase match on Thursday at 20:00 BST, having drawn their opener against Bayern Munich.
