Man Utd eye Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert as alternative targe

According to Teamtalk, Manchester United have identified Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert as a potential target after failing to secure a new left-back before the summer deadline.

WHAT HAPPENED
Teamtalk reports that United had previously prioritised Newcastle's Lewis Hall but were unable to complete a deal. Hall has since signed a long-term contract with Newcastle United and is expected to remain at the club for the coming years, leaving United to consider alternatives — with Truffert named as a possible candidate.

KEY CONTEXT
Truffert has established himself at Bournemouth and has become a regular for France, per the report. Teamtalk adds that Bournemouth, managed by Marco Rose, are likely to ask a significant fee for the French full-back — the club could hold out for around £60m for a sale.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Any move involving Truffert would take place within the 2026–27 summer transfer window, which closes on September 1, 2026.
