Man Utd set to be without seven senior players for Tottenham clash

Reported on October 8, 2026, Manchester United head into their Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford short-handed, with as many as seven senior players unavailable for Saturday's fixture.

WHAT HAPPENED
The club are expected to be without: Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu, who sustained injuries during the international break and are confirmed sidelined; Benjamin Sesko, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo, who withdrew from international duty with injuries and have not recovered; and Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt, who were ruled out from the start of the campaign and show no signs of being fit for Saturday.

KEY CONTEXT
United have collected five points from five league matches so far this season. The side’s slow start has put pressure on manager Michael Carrick, who — the report notes — could be dismissed if he cannot turn results around. The same piece adds that Spurs have struggled for cohesion following extensive summer signings, and suggests United still “should fancy their chances” despite the absences.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The affected players are listed as unavailable for the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford on Saturday. No further confirmations or squad announcements are included in the report.
