Man Utd target Youssouf Fofana for January move, report says
Manchester United are reportedly “fully convinced” about signing French midfielder Youssouf Fofana in January, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.

The Red Devils added Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba to their midfield this summer. Santos and Tielemans have already made their debuts for United, while Baleba is expected to debut this weekend. Despite those arrivals, the club remain active in the market for another defensive midfielder and Fofana has emerged as a top winter target, the report says.

Fofana is currently at Sevilla on a straight loan until next summer, with no purchase option or obligation included in that deal. Vamos Mi Sevilla suggests Milan could seek to terminate the loan at the turn of the year in order to sell the player to United, but that would require agreement between the clubs. The report adds United are likely to test Milan’s resolve once the transfer window reopens, given Fofana could be open to a winter move.

Why it matters
United’s summer signings strengthened the midfield, yet the club is still pursuing another defensive option. Fofana’s loan structure at Sevilla — and Milan’s potential willingness to end it early — are central to any January approach.

What happens next
According to the report, the situation will be revisited when the winter transfer window opens, with United expected to probe Milan about a possible deal.
