Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca said his squad "dealt with the noise" after they beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield. The game was City’s first match since the club was found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules.

WHAT HAPPENED
Enzo Maresca credited his players for handling the off-field distraction as they recorded a 3-0 win at Anfield. His description — that the squad "dealt with the noise" — was given in the immediate aftermath of the match.

KEY CONTEXT
The result came directly after the Premier League’s finding that Manchester City breached financial rules; Maresca framed the team's performance as a response to that situation.
