Report: Antonio Conte negotiating with Man United as Carrick faces pre

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Antonio Conte is negotiating terms with Manchester United and could become the club's head coach soon, according to EyeFootball's summary of that claim. The report comes as United's early Premier League form has raised questions over the managerial position.

WHAT HAPPENED
Manchester United have taken six points from six Premier League games this season. That slow start has increased speculation about Michael Carrick's future; the source says he could be dismissed if results do not improve.

KEY CONTEXT
EyeFootball notes that Carrick currently "continues to have the faith of the United hierarchy," but that stance could change if the team fails to return to winning ways. United face a run of away fixtures that the report describes as tricky: a Champions League trip to Atlético Madrid, a Premier League visit to Leeds United and another away European fixture at Como.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
According to the report, the coming matches are likely to be pivotal for Carrick's position. If United cannot improve their results in those fixtures, the club's hierarchy may reassess their support.
