Robbie Savage wins on Peterborough debut as Posh reach EFL Trophy last 32
Robbie Savage began his first EFL managerial spell at Peterborough United with a 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town Under-21s in the Jersey Mike's Trophy, a result that guaranteed Posh a place in the competition's last 32.

Savage, who left Forest Green Rovers to succeed Luke Williams and was appointed on Friday, watched his side race into a 4-0 half-time lead. Harry Leonard scored twice — including the first goal of Savage's reign — and Peterborough now have six points from six with one group game remaining. The result also confirmed holders Luton Town will progress, after the Hatters claimed two points from a penalty shootout win against Colchester United.
